Customer: Colorado Drawblade – Manufacturer Of Aspen Furniture

Goals of Project: To be able to develop several figurines that then can be manipulated to form different scenes for Colorado Drawblades furniture product line

Software Used: Artcam

Process approach: In this case, Colorado Drawblade had an Artist wax model the Elk figurine from a picture that depicted what the elk was to look like. With that wax model NECO 3D Scanned the model in to the computer smoothing the roughness of the wax model. Then the model was imported into Artcam further smoothing was added and then tool paths were developed for the 3D router. The Elk was then route red in Aspen as a prototype. This figurine was the combined with other figures in Artcam and then routed into both furniture and beds for Colorado Drawblades product line.

Alternate Process approach: This project could have been completely developed in Artcam by importing the elk picture and then relieving and establishing tool paths in just one software.
